Now welcome summer...
Blessings of the summer solstice to you. Maybe you’re in the midst of a heat wave or other severe weather right now (my city is under a tornado watch and a heat advisory as I type this!) and it’s hard to get excited about summer. We’re certainly facing many weather challenges made worse by global warming. I know it can be hard to feel hopeful and happy when there’s so many challenges.
I wanted to check in to let you all know I was sick for several weeks, and am finally on the mend. I was so excited to get going on my second podcast (and planning future ones) but this illness really set me back, and I’m playing catch up with work and projects now (not to mention laundry and gardening).
A “viral infection” was the diagnosis. I know, I know—I wasn’t able to get a PCR test, so who knows? I hope you’re all staying safe and cautious out there as we see a big summer surge of SARS-CoV-2 in many major cities now. Luckily there’s many outdoor activities to enjoy in summer that don’t require being in huge crowds of people. Wherever you are and whatever you’re doing, I hope you’re all doing as well as can be expected.
That’s about it. Just saying hey, checking in, and letting you know I’m here and still at it. Navigating the stress of seeing so much social upheaval in the world, like so many of us now. But I’m trying to look forward with hope. I’m planning some cool podcast adventures going forward. And maybe some more online talks. And my book is coming along!
I hope summer brings you some beauty and fun and projects you enjoy. May the shift of the season, towards harvest, towards winter, fill us with insights and pleasures and comforts.
