Pat Robertson (a horrible, evil man) is dead

Let us now rejoice!

Pat Robertson, the evangelical Christian who was a Baptist minister, media mogul and former candidate for president, is dead at 93. This was a man who wrought much evil in the world. He made millions from his arch-conservative media network Christian Broadcasting Network, which he used as a platform to spew hatred against gays, women, and non-Christians.

Robertson is also largely responsible for the unconstitutional and deeply harmful trend of mixing politics and religion, foisting his abhorrent bigotry onto the Republican party and encouraging hateful rhetoric. We can see what a divisive and awful thing this has been for democracy and for the social fabric of our nation.

Robertson also famously said that feminism was "a socialist, anti-family political movement that encourages women to leave their husbands, kill their children, practice witchcraft, destroy capitalism and become lesbians."

So, yeah. Fuck that guy and may he rot in the same Hell he wished on innocent, good people. There is much to do as we continue working to restore equality and compassion to America.
