Been very very busy, friends! Started a new writing job that is flexible and fun, and it is also full swing in gardening season, and I’ve been doing a bit of stray cat rescue with a local group, so your humble media witch is working a LOT right now. But I am hoping there will be time for some media musings here, and some spring and summer fun soon.
And by fun, I mean small, safe outdoor gatherings mostly. Like a lot of people, I’m disappointed that our public health policy seems to have decided to just pretend there’s no longer a COVID pandemic happening. As a former employee of the state department of public health, and someone who takes this very seriously, I have to say it looks like we’re going to be on our own with taking responsibility for protecting ourselves and others. The situation is aggravating and frustrating. But even with the wholesale denial and ignorance that seems to be pervasive now, I also see a lot of compassion and a lot of smart perseverance. We learned a lot these last three years, even if it seems like a lot of folks have forgotten it. Carry on, friends, and do your best in the face of adversity. It’s all we can do.
In the meantime, I have been watching some great films and TV and reading some wonderful new books, so I hope to have some reviews and recommendations up soon, and get back to posting the Witchvox project!
But for now, I’m off to a plant sale…
