Hello folks! It’s that time of year again: the days grow shorter, sunset comes earlier, and we prepare to enter the winter season. Yuletide is always a very special season for me and I always look forward to so many traditional pleasures: outdoor lights, fragrant greenery, traditional Yuletide music, and of course baking cookies!
I create a special Yuletide altar for the season, and light candles every day during the winter to remind me of the return of the light at the winter solstice (on December 21 this year), and to remind me of my witch path. I try to make the most of the loss of daylight by focusing on headier work like reading, writing, and research.
As you may have read here recently, I now have an agent for my book project, The Witching Hour: How Witches Enchanted the World, and things are happening! My first proposal for publishers is due this week, and I’ve been mapping out additional research I still need to do. Those of you who can subscribe to this blog (or buy me a coffee or hot chocolate on occasion) will help me stay on track to do this work in the coming year.
Paid subscribers can comment on blog posts, and are eligible for one free tarot reading per calendar year! (If you subscribed for 2023 and did not get your reading yet, feel free to contact me for one) I’m adding a new perk for new subscribers in 2024: You will get a monthly viewing and/or reading recommendation list curated specially for subscribers to this blog, based on my ongoing research. To get the 21% off yearly subscription deal, just click on the button at the bottom of this post.
Thank you all for your ongoing support, and I wish you all a warm, joyous, safe, and peaceful Yuletide season.
